St Louis City Counselor has filed a stay seeking to temporarily halt the judge’s order

ST LOUIS, MO (STL.News) – On Monday, a federal judge issued an order that could result in the release of pretrial detainees who may pose a risk to public safety.

The City Counselor has filed a stay seeking to temporarily stop the judge’s order.  Our concern is for the safety of our residents, visitors, and businesses.

The federal court has set a very short time period of seven days to grant nearly 900 felony detainees new bail hearings under new standards, or release them immediately.
